I think the play Othello is a very good play, but I just wish i could understand the language! The movie version we saw in class made me understand the play a little better but I really didn’t like the way they tried to transform it into modern day. I didn’t like how basketball was compared to the play & Desdemona’s father was the head coach. I also that the ending of how everyone died in the end was not very convincing. It was a little over dramatic and I understand it is a drama play made into a movie, but i just thought that it could have been better. I would like to see another version of the play, which I am looking for, but with the same correlation with the actual play, but in modern day language.

I also agree, the movie definetly helped a lot to understanding the play. Not only in the language barrier sense but also I feel like I can learn more by visual than reading it. The movie was a little dramatic which makes it more among the lines as Shakesphere wanted it to be.

You ara right the movie is a more down to earth language. Othello was an interesting play but I liked A Doll’s Huse bettr. I think the setting and the conflicts between charaters made it more interesting to read it. The Glass Manegerie was also somethihng I rather read. How did you do on the test? I just hope I can get this essay drama finish. i really dont know where to start any suggestions??????

The movie was definitely over dramatic. It was….weird and unrealistic. But at the same time, it helped me understand the story more.

Hello, Vanessa, how are u doing on your research paper?Well, I have not seen many of your comments but I usually visit your page to see what is new. I do want to finish my paper ASAP because of the holidays and dont have to worry about it. I hope we all do a good job on the paper

I agree, the movie we watched was alittle dramatic. The movie did allow me to understand the confusing language.
